Yes, I hear you there are a couple of people we were interested in, but of course being a small company we are at the mercy of the insurance company.
We DO get to major cities, but it is usually a quick drop or pickup not stuck there all day. Also probably 90% of our miles are interstate.
I have already filled the postion I had open in our Semi fleet, however I did just purchase 6 medium duty trucks for our lite weight RV div. and we will be looking for at least 4 drivers for those trucks.
If you check under the thread I have in hotshot section you can see the trucks that I am putting on.

At .32cpm the only ones making money is your company. Right now dry van rates are actually up and avg pay is about $2 mile. So at a profit of $1.68 mile before fuel I'd say they are happy to have u driving their truck.

32 cents a mile is extremely low. But I have nothing to say as my first trucking job was 28 cents a mile and was doing okay until the price of living shot so high up in less than a decade.
However, don't assume higher CPM means higher pay. It depends on your mileage you get on a weekly basis.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Yes but $0.28 / mile 9 years ago would be like getting $0.36 / mile today

I make 30 cents a mile driving for a small locally owned trucking company and I'm actually doing well. But this guy has dedicated accounts at General Tire and we also pull boats, we stay regional. most all my trips are 550 miles each way average. I can clear $900 a week running hard if the cards fall right.
So I leave out on a sunday, get to my destination that night, sleep, unload the next morning and reload and I'm home monday night. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Sometimes its less, like easter is going to put me behind a day so I already know my next check will be more like 650 or 700.
But,,,, I sleep in my own bed 4 nights a week and I'm off weekends (excluding sunday afternoon) and this is more than 90% of other truck drivers get to do so I complain very very little.1958Pete Thanks this. -
