Does this #### really happen there? I have Exp. and they have called and emailed me since I started looking for a new job, but I'be been reading all this stuff (made me drive 200 miles on a flat, lost my fingers, etc) and now I'm thinking it would be galactically stupid to call back...... What's the real truth here? I'be got a mortgage, kids ,etc, and I'm scared:biggrin_2555:

you did the right thing, in no way shape or form do you want to go to canada without your paperwork in order. you might have been a little depressed in pa. but nothing like you would have been in another country. now that you've seen the bottom, you can only go up from here.:biggrin_2558:

Pete, don't be scared it will olny slow you down. If you really want to know. You will need to walk up to a truck driver and just ask. It worked for me I assure you more then not they will be happy to let you know what they think of the company they are driving for. :)

I have been with USA for 6 years and USA will openly acknowledge, and has never denied, that they are a "starter" company for new drivers. Like any company, USA makes more money off the backs of trainees and new drivers who enter at .23 thru .27 cpm. I am a trainer here and I do admit they would rather a new driver quit within 6 months to a year instead of raising your pay to .35 cpm. The only way you will earn a good pay with USA is to either land a dedicated route or become a trainer. However, the one thing that will make or break you is who your fleet manager is. I have a fleet manager who truly goes to bat for all his drivers and in return we run hard for him...if you end up with a fleet manager who is a slacker don't waste your time, turn in your keys and don't look back because they assign fleet managers to overlook certain sections of the US and you cannot request a different fleet mngr - this privilege was taken away at least 3 years ago and therefor you are stuck with your fleet mngr.
If you are an experienced driver with a good driving record don't waste your time coming here because you have a 50/50 chance of getting a slacker fleet manager who will drive you mad and you have a 50/50 chance of being assigned a tractor that was destroyed by a rookie driver...or BOTH!! At this company it's all about WHO YOU KNOW and befriend in UPPER MANAGEMENT.
Equipment here is in bad shape for the same reason: a starter company with rookie drivers = lots of damaged equipment and very little profit, if any...
