So I live in pa. Was on vacation and got pulled over doing 80 in a 65. 530 miles from home so I can't physically fight it easily. The cop told me to get an attorney to fight it when I asked. I asked how he knew my speed he said not radar but some kind of speed timing thing. This ticket is really vague under speed it says c80s shp code 3. Everything else I know what it is. Help. And keep the don't speed comments to yourself please. I have a perfect driving record. Had.
Just got a speeding ticket out of state in nc in my own car

15 mph over with a cdl even in your own car is bad. Read up on the disqualification potential.
-
Yes I understand it's bad that's not really the point of my thread

He either paced you or timed your distance between to fixed points and calculated your speed that way. I have found, on more than one occasion, if an officer tells you to elect the court option he won't show up and it could be possibly dismissed. I know it's far from your home to elect a court date and possibly fight it, but your gonna have to weigh what your CDL is worth to you

throw yourself at the mercy of the court.
Plead a "stay of adjudication" with the county attorney and get the CA to put it in writing that this is acceptable to them.
You get 6 months probation, they get the money and after 6 months, the judge will dismiss the ticket.jbatmick Thanks this. -
Good luck with whatever happens. Ever since I got my cdl I don't speed anywhere, even in my car. Too risky. Especially out of state. Hopefully you can get it dismissed.

The county attorney down here right? The ticket says gaston county courthouse in Gastonia nc.
Thanks. You know what's sad and of course I'm sure everyone says it but this was literally the first time I "sped" since I got my cdl. The whole way down here I seriously did 55 and my buddies #####ed the whole way. So I was going to make some time up... I hate my life -
The one where you got the speeding ticket.

You dont have to hate your life. Its not the end of the world but if it stays on your record it hinders your chances of keeping your job if you have a driving Jon or it will keep you from getting hired with anyone for awhile.
