I get 150/day. Plus hotel room and wheels, if I need them.

It's not my fault if the truck fails. I make more than 150 per day when the truck is running. The harder I run, the more money the truck makes. I take care of the truck and treat it like it's mine. But if it breaks down and something I can't fix, then I personally shouldn't be punished financially for it.

Guys that think it's okay for a company to basically screw the driver over when their equipment fails are, well, stupid. Makes me shake my head over some of the stuff I read or hear on how companies treat their drivers....and drivers allow it to happen.

"Allow it to happen"??? Raiderfanatic, just what should a driver do? Quit when his truck goes in the shop and they only want to pay $75? Not work for a great company that pays well and runs them well but does not have a good break-down policy? We supposed to organize a general union and refuse to work unless they meet all our "demands"? What is your threshold for where a driver get's screwed over and where a driver is treated fairly, and are you the arbiter of of what is fair and what is not?

The point is companies do not actively seek and prefer to have their equipment in the shop so they can stop paying a driver, and the driver (and the driver before him) has as much to do with a truck's up-time/down-time as anything/anyone else.

You hear drivers complain all the time about not being paid well. Not getting miles. Complaining about one thing or another about who they work for. That's their fault, is all I'm saying. If a company is only going to pay you 30 cents a mile and then only run you 2000 miles a week, why stay there? Guys constantly complain yet continue to hire on and work for companies that treat them like garbage.

Personally, I'm fortunate enough to drive for a guy who's leased on to a company that isn't like that. But if I was, I'd not stay there. If I'm going to let someone kick me, then I might as well be a dog and not a man. That's all I'm saying.

    To each his own.
