I would choose a brand new Cascadia if it's available. Everyone that has one is averaging 6.5 and above. Don't forget to add the surcharge to the 0.97 this week it is 0.48 so you're getting. 1.45 a mile. Go to johnchristner.com and fund the calculator on there so you have an idea the miles you need to run based on what you're looking at taking home.

Hi. Happy Easter to everyone! I have been following this thread off and on since 2008. I feel sorry for solo guys with E-log fiasco. I hope JCT makes necessary adjustments to make it right for everyone.
I have a question for JCT teams though. How are you guys doing under the new system? Technically, teams should not have problems with E logs and I weould presume, there would be a lot of repowers?
We are husband and wife team leased on to USX for the past 2 years and thinking to make a move, when the lease is up in May.

I finished up orientation with Daytona88. I will say that, so far, I am more than impressed with JCT. They have done everything that they said that they would do. They seem very focused on the driver. I got a '12 Cascadia, and I thoroughly enjoy it. The fuel economy is phenomenal. I see no issues with elogs. Just like with any other company, your reputation will dictate how you run. If you show the planners, dispatchers, and your dm that your not afraid to run, and they will get you the miles. On the other hand, if you enjoy shootin' the #### at the ts restaurant and farting around, they will make sure you have plenty of time to do that.

Thanks for the response, flightwatch. I have a 2010 Cascadia at USX and average about 7 mpg. We don't sit around for sure. 5500 to 6000 ml a week is a norm for us, but due to a lot of little things with the company, we want to move on. I may add, that we have been with them since 2004 and been averaging about 240-250k miles per year.
In any case, we applied to JCT a few days ago and I was curious, how teams are doing under E logs.

Elogs isn't the problem, planning the whole trip is.

Well. I have been reading here that guys, solos, complain that they get stuck at shipper for 6-8 hours and then can't get their 14 hours extended, so they run 2 hours and shut down for another 10. Yeah, no problems for teams, but solos can't afford to get those kind of delays, day in, day out.
But as I feel, teams are doing just fine with JCT?

Teams that I talk to are doing pretty well. Yes there will be times where will be stuck at shipper or receivers. Remember that there is also the split sleeper rule.

Yes, split sleeper rule, but you are still bound to 14 hours rule. Back in the old days, you could constantly extend your 15 hours, 8x8x15 rules. Even with the 14 hour rules, with paper logs, it was easy to get creative.
Anyways, I hope everything works out and we'll be on board in May. We applied in 2009, but then, JCT did not allow us to have a dog in a lease truck. At this time, we may end up buying a truck and come in as an owner operator team.

    Thanks for the info, Alan.

No need to worry about the 14 if you took 8 in the sleeper while you're loading or vice versa. Drive the rest of your 11 then take a two and finish your eleven after that also. Only way you'd worry about your fourteen is if you took more than 2 hours off on your second split

I see. I kinda missed that since we never use the split sleeper rule as a team.
