Because your unhappy with it the rest of the world should be to..huh..good luck with retirement. .
-
Whoosh. Geez a little tongue in cheek goes a long ways...
-
yeah you will get a ton of that. People do not realize that everyone is different. So what might be a great job to someone might not be to someone else. I used to be a service advisor for a ford dealership, but i know my wife would hate that job. Same deal reversed she is a highway patrol officer and i would hate that job. So to each their own. You never know until you try. It may be the best thing you ever did in your life...you never know.

H/R- you found the job a lot of us love to hate. Most of us are stuck here without the time, the resources or the courage to get out of it and make something of ourselves.
When a lot of us old guys started driving there was a lot more money and a lot less regulation involved. There was no such thing as electronic monitoring and no one- I mean NO ONE would have believed that the hours of service regulations were going to be enforced someday with ZERO TOLERANCE. Fifteen years ago you could drive as many miles as your courage and determination could handle. Today, a tiny electronic box tells us that it's time to park our truck and rest because the Nanny-State sets driving limits to keep us from hurting ourselves or others.
So, a lot of us are frustrated and discouraged. Even bitter.
Anyway, you know what you're getting in to, you're an intelligent, responsible human being and you're not scared of a little frustration. You're no kid and this isn't your first challenge. So I say come on in! You did your homework, you know the risks- jump in and get a piece of this.
When you get some experience and you can feel the burn- when you learn enough about this business to know how screwed up, illogical and over regulated it is- you can do like the rest of us and help out the new guys that want to try it out.
So, welcome to Trucking! Study the TTR forum, know the risks and make wise choices- you're gonna do just fine. -
Why I thank you!!!
I WILL ENJOY retirement, and be laughing at all you newbies that think you're gonna love this industry. -
Just like I'll be laughing at a bitter dude when I do enjoy what it is I want to be doing...here's the way I see it..hundreds of drivers and a few complaining. .life's only as bad as you make it..in the same breath your the only one who can change it..smile...it's all good..
Onetruckpony Thanks this. -
I'll be salt water fishing, playing golf, and many many other joys of life, all the while, you will not be able to get a home life or enjoy your life when you get into this industry. You will see, you will see, that in the end, I am right.

Spent my years playing golf and fishing..it gets boring too..LOL. .wish you the best. . .and missing the point and such a bad thing...just like life it happens..

Thanks to those who understand...and who don't. .did my time in corporate America..OK money...stability. .dinners at home are nice...Dealing with employees generally sucks..as the years have rolled by it has only gotten worse..people expect to be handed a golden spoon..or plates full of happiness. ..doesn't happen. .
Ran my own companies. ..did good..did real good and failed badly..never complained..that's life..pull your boots back on and move ahead..again we have become a nation of whiners..not doers anymore..Pissed off cause the boss drives a caddy..has a big house and screws you on your truck lease or pay..well do what he did and start your own company..not easy or fun..the risk is the pay off..yup he gets to live than the employees. .
It's all good..you have choices don't like what you do move on...have a dream...plan it out and follow it..see ya all sometime and some place...
