My laptop has an echo board in it

OP, there is no "average". Either go measure some of their trailers, ask the place who owns the trailers, or keep guessing. Your choice, but I think I would want to hook onto one of their trailers and turn and measure myself.
Also account for the kingpin being lower in relation to the steers and tandems. Imagine going down a big dip in a driveway etc, then driving up it while turning onto a road. I have seen a few flatbed loads hit the headache racks in that scenario when they had front overhang.

We stay out about a month at a time. Haul produce out of a range of south Texas and as far over as Cali. Take a few days off during the month and are in good weather a great deal of the time.

Thanks for that thought Martin.
I know there s no standard. Just wanting to know what I might have missed. Never thought about pitch of truck and traier changing. Defiantly need to take that into consideration. -
No problem, and I dont know if it would make a big difference with a box trailer or not. I know that guys headache rack paid the price though

Also be aware of the air ride cab moving around some, and leave clearance for that too.
I do a lot of my own fab work, the latest being this for my Honda EU3000is

If you do not have a trailer, take some masking tape and make the front of the trailer on the floor, 8'3" wide. Then make a tape dot simulated kingpin in the center of it, 3', 3.5' and 4' back from the "front" edge. Measure to the corners. That would be the minimum allowable distance you have to work with. Then add 6" or so for trailer pinch on dips and you have a working distance. Don't forget clearance for trailer airlines and 7 pin cable. They stick out 5 or 6 inches as well and will drag airlines back and forth.

I am a little anal about such things, and too lazy to move stuff around on a nightly basis.

The truck will be wired for 110v from the generator via 2 shorepower plugs at the back of the cab. AC unit will be wired to one, with a battery maintainer/charger and everything else wired to the other.
May even get a remote start/stop too in time to come, we'll see.
It's a lot easier when you have the tools etc to do it yourself, but not worth buying them for one time use. Hell my plasma cutter alone was @$1300 iirc!
