Hanadarko, I used a large padlock on my last truck, thru the u-joint on the steering shaft under the steering wheel, above the brake pedal. Truck could not be steered if someone drove off. Mine was an Int'l. Very easy to place when standing on the steps outside the truck. Cannot be seen, all the bad guy knows is "wtf, why won't this thing turn ?" and bails out. Price of padlock, about $25.

I still say pulling the engine computer fuse would be effective. The engine won't start, and I doubt they're smart enough or want to spend time trying to figure out why.
-
All of these ideas would work, but wouldn't you rather come to your truck and it be the same as the way you left, instead of finding out someone busted out your window, hot wired it and drove it into whatever was in front of it cuz the wheel wouldn't turn??? (or just a broken window in the case of pulling the fuse)
I would rather take option 1 and that would only be caused by a thief looking in the window, seeing a deterrent (air cuff lock, dog, something obvious). I don't need to spend all day cleaning up glass, repairing a lock and calling my insurance company and having my rates go up even more. -
Locks do two things, they keep the honest honest and move the thieves on to better pickings. Like SHC said put a cuff lock on it, a good thief will move on.

When I'm parking the K100 and leaving it, I switch off both battery disconnects, purge the air tanks, and turn off the valves to all four fuel tanks, then flip up both fold down steps.
Assuming they can figure out how to crawl up into it, the starter won't turn, and even if they somehow manage to get power to the starter, I can't see it running more than a quarter mile after the air tanks are charged enough to get it rolling on what's in the fuel filter.
Other than that, if I'm within about a mile of it, I'd probably be able to hear it start up and call the cops. Sure, they wouldn't get there until an hour later, but how many 30 foot bright yellow K100s are out there? (Just 2 by my count) -
im just wondering why he so worried , unless he lives in a high crime area, i wouldnt think there that big a call for big trucks, unless you have a hot trl thats need too be moved, but i undersatnd his concerns, my truck got broke into sitting on k-mart lot and i was like a 1000 feet from back of my house, jump the fence i was in kmart, but stuff does happen, just throw a log chain thru the steer tire and up around the frame with a padlock, or buy bunch of alarm decals put on side of sleeper and buy a blinking red light too stick on dash along with a coilewd up large rattle snack ready too strike made of rubber also works too sitting on the right side ,looking out thru that little window..
