Listen Young Homeboy.I just read my post I did this morning,it was B.S. at best, but YOU have to decide which questions to ask,as in Trucking,as with life, there are no absolute truths.
Do you want to go OTR? Are you going to start (or do you have) a family with babies at home? Maybe Regional? Are you interested in dry-box,refrigerated,or flatbed? Is your goal to be an owner-op with your own authority?
You have to decide how you are going to navigate this Trucking thing, and when you do,ask the questions, but you will STILL have to make up your own mind.
At least you have an idea of what you want to do pulling hoppers,(I've done that) off an on since "76",so think log and hard on what you would like to try;and get started asking questions and advice..FloTheWaitress Thanks this. -
My first suggestion is for him to go talk to Knight/squire up in the cities.
There's a couple out of the Fairmont area that just got their own truck leased on in Sioux Falls. The guy they were driving for has both reefers and hoppers.
I sent them an email for more information. -
Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and advice.... Bumpy I see your from New Ulm I was born and raised in Gaylord just 30 or so miles North East of there. I'm a single man with no kids or family holding me down at the moment... I'm currently interested in Flatbed and Hopper....OTR Vs Regional is my current debate as I have stayed out 2-3 nights in the truck already and enjoyed it so thats another decision I need to make! I've also never been to a trucking school I got my Class A on my own with a friends semi/trailer.... Also not sure about getting my own authority or not but I forsure want to be a O/O!!!! either leased on to someone or my own authority.

There is another member from Gaylord on here,Shriner75 I believe..He is pulling a Tanker for a company in New Ulm,and from what he tells me he really likes it.In fact,I was going to go there as the thought of being home 2 days every week was strong, but the company I'm with gave me what I wanted..(Wish I would have demanded more now)Anyway,
he is on my friends list,so visit my profile to make sure I gave you the right name, and send him a P.M.;-he wont mind, hes a #### good guy..
I'm gonna get home Fri or Sat,I will PM you my 2cents,but it is only my opinion..YOU will have to DECIDE on how to play this..Some go in the Army, some the Marines, some Navy or Air Force, everyone is different..
Ummm,I have been to Nielson's Bar there many times..
FloTheWaitress Thanks this.
