I have a perfectly clean DAC report, no moving violations, no problems with Driver Inspections or Vehicle Inspections and I have a perfect record of not having any Accidents with a Commercial Motor Vehicle. I have only one problem. The problem is a link to a company (FFE) mentioned in my DAC report that reports that they have a "Termination Summary" from their Driving Academy, where I worked for 8 weeks prior to being tested for an upgrade.
Is there a way of obtaining this report to begin with since It's contents are not listed in detail and not actually located on my DAC report? It's mention on the DAC report is only that It is available upon request.
What can I do about a "Termination summary"? I am sure that some companys write these reports about their students all of the time but are they legal? and when are they not legal?
What can be done about a "Termination Summary"?
What is a "Termination Summary available" on Your DAC?

You can get a copy of your DAC and then dispute it here if you disagree.
http://www.hireright.com/Consumers-Applicants.aspx#RequestForm
Hireright lost a lawsuit last year under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. They are kind of skittish right now and are reversing a lot of disputes.kb3bzy Thanks this. -
Hum. Must look in to that my self. Hummmm.
-
Termination summary. Were you fired for some reason?
-
Termination summary only means that someone at that company filled out some paperwork when the driver quit. Now depending on what happened when he quit, it could be negative, or it could be positive and say eligible for rehire.

Last place I worked I filled out hundreds of them; my first three years there I had 165 - 167 guys turnover every year to keep 145 trucks at 9 locations.
Dac makes their money by sending any 'reported' former employers to the customers that pay for the premium package when they order your CDL. Guys w/ years on the road might have a large portion of their former employers listed.
The hiring managers can quickly spot applications where the previous employment section is more fiction than fact.
Unless you get back multiple reports, the cost is alot more than the $2.50 credit DAC used to gather the info. Any reports with rebutal from the driver will have it included.
DAC uses a 'check off' list you do on line or fax in so the responses are always the same and probably structured by lawyers so the hiring manager can 'read between the lines' but noting is ever in black and white so DAC won't get a lawsuit.
Other than "abandonded truck" & "terminated VRS resigned", the worst thing you can checkoff is 'Personal Contact Requested".
It is easy to check off stuff. Out of all those I filled out only one was questioned.
The big thing is they don't go away. Just like a credit report they simply list the driver's rebutal. Some of today truckers will have history pop up years form now 'cause someone filled out a Termination Report'. I'd guess that 99% of mine said resigned, no accidents, no drug or alcohol positives and elligible for re-hire. I may have said NO on the re-hire if I truly did not want someone back [it happens] but then would say 'company policy' to keep it from looking bad. There are tons of companies with this policy. -

Hello Condo Cruiser and the Group:
Yes, I got a copy of My DAC report 3 times last Year and Everything was OK on It, even from the FFE Driving Academy at first, then 4 Months later I discovered that the FFE entered a link into my DAC about a Termination Summary available.
I worked for Werner for 3 Months and then I went to the SWIFT Driving Academy in Millington TN. Everything was Fine and Clean with my DAC report after my employment at Werner and at SWIFT, no problems at all.
The only question that I have is "how do I dispute whatever is on my termination summary if It is negative in nature"? I did'nt see It specificly written anywhere on my DAC report.
FFE only wrote Good things about me, mentioning things like "mountain driving" and OTR and things that they gave me credit for. I did'nt have any accidents and I did'nt see anything about Accidents that the company might have reported.
They have my National DMVR listed on my DAC, and there's no citations listed on It so I am Good there.
I was only a Student, riding with my Trainer so I don't know what the issue is or where to find It on my DAC.
I don't know if I would have to write away for the "termination summary" because It is'nt detailed on my DAC anywhere.
I could'nt get hired recently because of the "Termination Summary" listed on the DAC report. I am wondering what to say to companys who ask me about It. I am a rather experienced Student CMV driver, but I have'nt run Solo Yet.
What Is this Issue about the Hirerite or DAC losing a court battle with the Fair Credit Act reporting rule? I am curious now, and maybe that's the reason for why my DAC changed about 4 Months after I left the FFE.
Thank You Very Much. Anything that You can do would be most helpfull. -
try to talk to a human at FFE and ask them for an explanation of the summary , like what the heck is it .
-
i don't see how dac has anything to do with the fair credit reporting act.
dac is a personal work history report and has absolutely nothing to do with your personal credit profile.
the fair credit reporting act is government regulation to companies posting accounts on your credit. it was written to protect the consumer. to which it don't. -
Is it compulsory for each truck driver to write "Termination Summary" while quit the job?
