Has anyone attended Great Lakes TDS in Columbia Station, Ohio? I am going there tomorrow for a meeting to see what they have to offer. What I have found so far seems to be good but would like some feedback on them from someone who attended, if available.
Thanks.

Let me know if it seems like a good school im either going to go to go there or to the program that tri c offers
-
Yeah I called Hamrick in Medina and unless you can pay cash it's almost 10k there so I started looking into Great Lakes and have done some looking into the Tri C program.

Met with Mike in admissions today seems like a nice guy. He also seemed to be straight up and honest with me about everything. I will probably end up going here, after I figure out how I am going to come up with the money cause I don't really want to get a loan from a bank and the grant is going to take up to 2 months to clear and seeing as I have to do the night classes so I can still pay my bills that would put me at a starting date in may and a grad date of July and with my hours being cut I would like to get started ASAP.
He had a lot of information on some local companies that hire grads to there is a regional company about 15 miles from my house that hires grads from GLTDS. -
I visited with Mike today. I have to agree he seems very straight forward and honest. He was very helpful
I had alot of questions and he took lots of time to answer them for me. I will be starting at GLTDS on 4/16. If anyone else is starting that date let me know.... It would be nice to make a friend before school starts.

I just graduated from GLtdS. I passed my class A on the first attempt. That's whe where the good parts end. This school is essentially a joke. The owner seems to generally care, however the vast majority of the instructors could care less, Not all of the instructor s were bad.. In fact some of them were absolutely wonderful. I have attended a lot of schools in my lifetime, as , well as having done some teaching myself, the school is far from a professional learning environment. I realize it is truck driving school and not harvard... but there should be some level of professionalism... if you are simply looking to get in get out and have a decent chance of passing your class A The school would be an option.. However if you're actually looking to learn anything beyond the basic requirements to pass the test And feel confident that you are prepared for a new career You may want to consider tri c or another school. I'm not sure about the quality of education at any other schools, But I certainly would recommend students check out other schools before giving great lakes their money.
No sour grapes here I passed my class a on the first time and starting a new job immediately. I just think you should carefully consider what your expectations are prior to attending the school -

Hey BuckeyeMedic how did I know I'd find you in here. I think I sat next to you.
There's a picture of the whole class on the wall and under it there's a caption that reads " DON'T COME BACK!!!" That's a class they will never forget. Let me know if this is "### Clown". Good luck and be safe.

Lol...I'm in des Moines ...keeping off the grass! We made our mark that's for sure. I'm learning all the stuff I didn't learn at GLTDS.

When I went back to pick up my diploma there was still about 5 guys that had not taken the test yet and Pitbull just passed that day. They had said you and Jeff were gone and you were at the The Military Cademy. Voltran was there also and was heading for Crete. GLTDs leaves a lot to be desired. Good Luck
