Did they do away with all their different forms, when they went to elogs? Used to be # 20, I think, gave you the driver directions to a place.

I'm not on Elogs yet, but I sense they're coming soon. There's a form 19 and a form 21.
Where's 20?

I know some haters will start bashing, but lemme put something to you...
Why work for cents per mile, when you can work for 72% of the bill?
Prime has all that, and refunds lumper fees. Have you seen rust on a Prime trailer? We even have direction macros and shipper/receiver specific turn by turn macros. We have fuel macros and a hella good fuel network. And of course we drive slow. Most loads have time to run 55 or even 53, which will put you in the 8's and 9's. I don't bust my butt for miles, but for that 72% of the load.
As far as lease goes, and here goes the bashers.... how many companies will put you through a week of classes that teach you the lease? Just wondering. If ya got specific questions, just ask. I have met a few transam drivers, and they say they can't slow down, gotta get them miles. -
Prime's lease sounds really tempting. However, I hope to own this truck. I'm in love with it so far. But that's four years away.

Been awhile since I've been there. Scroll thru the different forms, and 1 of them should be labeled directions or something like that. If its not there, they probably removed it when they opened up the GPS. Sounds like something they would do.

I tend to drive 58, unless I'm pressed for time, but even then, driving 65 gives me decent fuel economy(although anything below 7 doesn't cut it for me). I know I piss off the O/O Petercar drivers when I go this slow. But my reward is my fuel bill.

What's wrong with lumpers?
-
Nothing, I guess. But when I'm hiring one 80% of the time, it gets a little tiring, and I reckon my book of T Cheks will run out long before I swing by a terminal to pick up more. Lumpers were hardly an issue at Swift. I hardly ever touched my lumper receipt book, and the Comchecks came in small sheets because they were hardly ever used.Jackofalltrades1977 Thanks this.

See post #5 & #12.
Some of us would rather work for a truck. Some of us would rather work for other things. Let me ask you a straight forward question, with the lease you're involved with, can you take 4 weeks vacation per year and get home every 5-7 days without going in the hole, and if you do go in the hole, how hard and long would you need to run to make that up? One last thing, that 72% you're getting, does that invoice come from the shipper, or the company you work for? 72% of what the trucking company say's might just be different than what they bill the shipper. I'm not a basher, just a realist.Jackofalltrades1977, Jarhed1964 and silenteagle Thank this. -
That is cool, being real. Not too many truck drivers will find a gig getting them home every 5-7 days. Maybe 20% of all CDL holders would get that lucky. I make it home about every 3 weeks for 4-5 days. Make enough to cover my hometime while I am out, so no going into the hole while sitting. I do get the occasion to drive by the house for a 10hr or lunch, as we live right off I44 in MO.
I also get 7.5 to 8.5mpg, which means that the fuel surcharge (we get 100%) pays for most of the fuel.
The 72% is the shipping invoice, not the company. Get the shippers invoices with my settlement every week. There have been a few loads that we picked up from brokers that dropped my 72% because of the broker fees, but I guess when freight is getting low, ya gotta get it where you can.
