    Morning Mike ...

Over all a 102 inch wip is the best CB antenna NOW THAT SAID at 2 meters a 5/8 will kick **** every time ...

    At CB a 5/8 wave is 22 foot ....

Most CB antennas have 5/8 worth of wire in them, or close, but they are short, longer is better, thus the 102 whip. Russ tells me the Monkey Made 9, a 5/8 antenna, will shoot skip better than a 102 whip, take off angle is steeper, but it is nearly as long as whip....so once again, longer is better. Didn't you guys establish the Larsen is 1/4 wave? And it is short, the whip will out talk it....longer is better.....repeat after me!!!!:biggrin_25525:

I'm going to bed soon........are you getting up to start your day?

5/8 wave worth ofc wire wound on a 5 foot antenna is worthless ....
It looks good on paper but towork it has to be 22 foot long....
In efftet you have a 5/8 wave rubber ducky for CB ....:biggrin_2559:
