Any walkers/runners out there that have used these? I currently run a few days a week and would like to continue that on the road. Are these decent for running at all or would I be better off running around the lot?
I figure if I ran 2 or 3 days a week I would be happy, it only takes 30 minutes to get 3 miles in. Does that seem realistic?

what? T/A walking trails? Only walking trails I know of is around the lot.

The walking trails are usually a nice walk around the outside of the t.s. and around the block. You can see a map of these hanging near the drivers lounge. Approx. 1/3 of these have nice walking trails.

Hmm...maybe they are not really trails?

Gadsden has a nice one. Do like the Ventures... Walk, Don't Run.

I noticed the last time I was out to TA near Hillsdale, WY that they had a mapped out trail, but it almost looked to me like it took people down a state highway. I could be totally wrong on that, I glanced at it on the way to the Buck Horn Restaurant (which by the way has phenomenal food). Anyway, as a future trucker and someone who normally walks 3 miles a day, I think this is a great idea!

Lol! I just got back from a 4 mile run at the TA in Madison, GA and then I check the list you posted and find that they supposedly have a trail here. Sheesh!
I like to get a run in whenever the schedule, weather, and location permits; and I prefer to find a country road that doesn't have too much traffic. That worked just fine at this location (Pierce Dairy Road).
I believe the TA in Cartersville, GA has a "fitness trail" and it's just the road that runs beside the truck stop. Not much of a trail.
PS: I checked on the "trail" at Madison and it's just a walk along the main road in front of the truck stop. My road worked much better due to way less traffic.Last edited: Apr 11, 2012

If there are no trails marked, ask the store employees what is a good direction to head out for a run. Less traffic, less gang areas etc...
