That is part of the trainer's job.....so hopefully you will get one that will teach you patiently and give you lots of practice time.....you are supposed to get at least 10 hours worth, but that's really very little. My students did all the backing (unless they were hesitant because of tight quarters) and they practiced in the truck stop when we had some down time.

We were all newbies at some time, and we all had to learn. Backing requires lots of practice and takes time. Real world time, not driving school. As a former trainer at USX I understood that and would let my students practice when ever we had time. It isn't a trainers job to judge your skills, it's our job to improve them as much as possible in the time your with us. Don't worry about it just remember we all went through the same thing. You will be fine as long as your willing to listen and learn. Good luck!
slim shady, DREAMS00 and bigdipper Thank this. -
Was with a trainer in Jan. He let me do all of the backing. The more I did the easier it became. Repetition is the key to success.

the thing that appeals to me at usx is the longer training than opposed to 2 weeks at others
-
From what I read they lowered the hours to 120 now. Basically that's 2 weeks, 2.5 tops, which is ridiculous. Then they put two rookies together and have them run as a team. Brilliant!
