After i re-read my post it kinda sounds like i was being a ########, i assure you thats not the case lol
-
So it's up to five now. For a while I thought I was the only regional guy on the forum. It's nice to know there are others.
-
jezz all you wussys running regional lol just kidding. Thats cool there are so many on the forums. I saw 2 Millis trucks yesterday on 675 in ohio. One was a regular sleeper cab in the maroon color. The other was a short/day cab? it was white. I say short/day because i am not sure what to call them it was the cab with nothing behind the seat.
-
That is a day cab. We call the small sleepers "coffin sleepers" because they're not much bigger than one.
-
cool got it. so the day cabs are more for running local stuff right?
-
I think every yard has at least one day cab for local runs. Eden has two with yard jockey fifth wheels on them to shuttle loads to the drop yard.

The end of my second week and couldn't be happier. Ran pretty good all week, finished off a run to Trenton on Monday, was told to head to Lapel, IN. We all know what's there. Picked up a load of glass going to West Allis. Got to run that load up with my friend Curtiscurse as he was doing the same. We rolled into the West Allis yard and found at least 8 other Millis trucks already there.
I told Jared we'd never get a load out in the morning, we'd be last on the list.
I finally got a load later in the morning but I was not last, Jared could've slept in! lol Got what seems like my usual run down to Earth City, MO. I was ready for dispatch with a full 11 hours after that unload. Did a drop and hook at Unilever but got tied up in their Fire Drill, so it took a little longer than I was expecting. Ran that load up to Oak Creek, WI where I experienced my first Lumper hiring.
Fired all of them after the job was complete of course. Got my next load from the West Allis yard and headed back down to Earth City again. Their going to get to know me. Unloaded with a full 11 on the clock this morning. Waited about 10 minutes after sending my "Ready for Dispatch" message and got another load through the house, delivering Monday in Eau Claire, WI.
So an end to what I'd call a good week. Ran good, kept busy for the most part. I'm getting to know the run from West Allis to Earth City like the back of my hand. Well over 2000 miles for the week, so I cant complain! Be Safe everyone! -
