When I quit driving I really want to work in the "fix stoopid ###### dept" at a company like Swift... I can see me laughing all day at work.

Another reason to ease onto the scales, its less impact on the scale itself. You dont just jump onto your doctors scale. Thats why some state scales say no sudden starts/stops on scale. It will keep it calibrated longer.

When you haul scrap, your screwed if you pull on a scale faster than 5 mph.. cuz then you set off the radiation detector, and have to set until they get a hold of the main DOT office, and they allow you back out on the road to return your load.

This is absolutely ridiculous.. I don't give a #### if he/she was backing on to the scale. These carriers will hire ANYBODY.

The phone rang, and fell on the floor. Those scales aren't quite as wide as the lanes on the interstate.

i rember one time , i was on my reg route, going thru 41 on the chicago north side, i went thru that scale so many times , she knew my truck , anyway this time was differnt, they were doing a full blown inspection scale on a simi with those long power poles hadeng off the back, o crap how am i gonna get on the scales, so i got my nose over far as i could , just missing the pole, swing hard left, got almost straighten up and got on scales nope, she comes outside, very nice lady, hard time getting on scales, you know it, well your steer is still off, so she help me back up a little as too not that truck then had me pull thru past the scale then back up straight, now granted i could done that too, but she might thought something was fishy, so i let her help me do it, she said alot drivers had problems that day, i told her that wasnt too smart doing a inspection like that in a small scale house like this, i told her coffee on me next time i come thru, that wasnt a fun day, but thats trucking, :biggrin_25525:
