Galaxy 979

Maybe I need to check into one of these 979's a little more, if anything I can run my little 150 palomar I have sittin around on it just for ##### and giggles. Where did you guys find the best prices on your 979's?

 

While they won't light the world on fire they are a nice little chassis LSB radio. If you have not seen it here is a review by CBRadio magazine http://www.cbradiomagazine.com/Radio%20Reviews/Galaxy%20DX%20979/Galaxy%20DX%20979%20Review.html I can't help you on the best prices but IMHO you will be hard pressed to find a better tech that Doug. If you do decide on one be sure to have the RX/TX light dimmed down so it does not blind you, it does not dim with the starlight faceplate and meter. The new 979's are blue LED so be carefull not to buy an old refurbished unit.
