They carry no csa points right? I looked it up in CSA book and it says it has no affect on csa points. When you correct it on the spot (at weight station like I did) Dot didnt give me a fine, it was level 2 and on inspection report was the size violation. No csa points correct?![]()

It shouldn't. Most states don't put them on your regular record but Alabama will

Since the violation is on the inspection then, yes, it will go against your CSA. -
I know Virginia and Florida will have it on your drivers record, takes 7 years for it to come off. This happened before all the CSA riff raff and is off my record now.
I checked my CSA and have nothing on record and have had some overweight fines in the last few years, I think it may or may not show depending on how it is handled by the agency. -
If there is an inspection and it is noted on the inspection you are going to get some points. That is considered a violation. If you get stopped for an inspection and the officer notes that the reason he stopped you was because you were speeding and he just gives you a verbal warning on the speeding and you get a clean inspection, you still get CSA points because he noted the speeding. Anytime they fill out the inspection form and note a violation whether you get a ticket or not you get CSA points.

I have a friend that has 18 points on his csa score just for a headlight out. It's normally 6 points but he saw 18 points and called to complain. They told him the first offense was 3x the amount. Personally, I wouldn't lose any sleep over this garbage, especially if I worked for an outfit that I had to work through the weekend just to make a grand

Weight violations will not give you any CSA points. When CSA first started they did, but no longer.
aiwiron Thanks this. -
He obviously doesn't understand CSA and how they 'weight' points. He really needs to read up on it before he complains. -
Yup, and in Iowa... I'm not sure why, if your get pulled over for a roadside inspection. The DOT is required to check a reason for the pull over, most of the time they just check speeding. Even if you were not at all speeding. Then, as you said, you get points for speeding.
This needs to be changed. The rumor is that the reason they do this is a farmer was claiming harassment by Iowa DOT a few years ago, and the farmer raised all sorts of cain about it.
