Not confusing at all.....just saying i can relate to Mr. Speedy training you, apt. like you describe would make me stay in Watford city. Glad to hear you don't have to room.......have heard they pile ya into housing. The job/work is enough to handle, a pleasant nice quiet place to come at end of 14-16 hour day a must.

Yeah, I have heard you do need haz-mat then you don't........not going to get it until necessary......have heard it is more a pain to have unless job required.

It's maybe a pain to GET, but not to have. And really, the hardest part is the fingerprinting process and background check through TSA. (Costs something like $90) The test itself is just another endorsement.

They want hazmat drivers at Power Fuels cause they are getting more involved into crude oil hauling...You do not need a Hazmat to haul water..

    Kind of.

"Fresh" water delivered to a frac site will be "clean" but production water is soo nasty that you are required to don your H2 monitor just to be near it and you definetely need the meter when you do a manual measurement atop the battery (stay upwind 4 sure).
DOT will eventually come up with a placard for these loads.

Is this that salt water being dropped down into abandoned deep wells?
    Thanks

Not really they are two different things. Salt water is injected into deep wells and production water is usually put in evaporating pits to get the water out then you are left with the nasty stuff in a solid form. That's how it's done in Wyoming not real sure about ND, but I assume it's the same.

Yes. The lease holder will do this to put more pressure on "stray" crude to wander on over to the nearest production pull.
But, most of the production water (salt water) is sent down to a sand formation about 1,500 feet below.

What is a "pain" about being more alluring to prospective employers? Same with TWIC. Neither is hard to get. TWIC does require 2 visits to port you get it at. Both can result in getting much better paying jobs. I would hope most would eventually want to make same money for fewer hours. Oilpatch is fine, but the money comes from the long hours more than the hourly pay. Anything you do to improve yourself makes you a smarter , better driver.

Yeah, I maybe should have chosen a different word than pain. When I was first getting my CDL and endorsements, I was told to hold off on getting haz-mat until employer required it. The idea it was a pain had something to with the responsibility of having that endorsement and not needing it. I was in school at the time and this was an inaccurate assumption....not my first one about trucking either and will not be my last :biggrin_25523:. Thanks for setting me straight.
