AS others have stated, a new in the box may puke just as fast as a reman.

I would Google new 3406b, plenty of sites came up and options for locations.

One thing to look out for is what the factory seal is set for on the pump, some can be turned down to 340HP out of the box and if anyone but a CAT mechanic removes the seal the warranty is void. <So I have been told by the Alban Cat service manager.>

yeah those seals are easy to manipulate unless they have changed them to a new style since i have been around them.

They sure were and I picked up one of those factory seal stampers at a flea market years ago, all it was when I seen the old ones was a small braided wire and a lead stamp.

New ones I hear and have seen are a little more fancy, but as we both know if it can be done someone has already figured a go around. When my family had a small fleet the mechanic would turn up the fuel for a hard pull or oversize load and turn it back when the tractor returned, after watching a few times it was easy to do.

Best thing I like about the older mechanical engines they were easy to work on and did not require a degree in computer science, just my humble opinion.
