4 star meals for the first 10 guests!

Question, do you pay for the inspection and drug test or does landstar.
-
The first time you pay for it, after onboard, they pay for inspections every 4 months.
-
I just paid for my inspection last week. The pre-employment drug test they pay for, but I did have to pay a small collection fee. I would get your drug test done as soon as possible. I took mine last Wednesday morning and was told they should have the results in two days. Friday came and went without the results, so no orientation this morning like I had planned. Hopefully they will post this morning as I already booked a flight to the orientation center for tonight. With any luck at all, I'll finally be in orientation tomorrow morning.
-
Why don't you drive to orientation so that you can get a load out after orientation? -
Word is new guys have been waiting as long as 3 weeks for trailer services to get them a trailer.
-
That is a very long wait.
I think that if knew that I had to wait that long to get a trailer that I would check on renting or buying my own trailer.
Brickman Thanks this. -
Well, actually I have my own equipment.....and that would be a great idea.......but until you go through orientation you don't have a base plate, or temp sticker, no DOT numbers or even insurance. All of the paperwork is filled out, and they tell me that I will get all that stuff at orientation. I left the company I was leased to this past week and of course had to surrender my base plate, remove DOT numbers, etc. Then I got the letter from the insurance company that they terminated the policy at midnight of my last day. If I had my own authority and such, then yeah I definitely would have booked a load for the orientation center.

You can get insurance to cover you while driving as long as you don't have a load on the truck. I doubt that it is very expensive. Unladen liabiliity will cover you while bobtailing but I don't know if it will cover you while pulling a trailer. You might give OOIDA a call to see if they have a temporary policy you can buy to get you to orientation. You could also check with a local dealer to see if you can get a temporary tag until you get yours at orientation. I would also suggest that you check with your state to see if they might have a suggestion for you. Landstar might also have a suggestion if you give them a call.
