Good luck. I sandblasted mine and used "Chassis Saver" epoxy paint. Lasted maybe a year. No longer than the cheap metal paint from lowes.

Well it all depends on how much money you want to spend and how long you want it to last? I have use 2 different methods with favorable results. The first is rustoluem paint rolled/brush on. The second is tractor paint from the farm the store rolled/brushed on. I have tried spraying them but usually it takes more paint and I dont get the coverage I want with the sprayer. Sure takes a little longer but worth it in the long run. I usually spray a coat of clear gloss on once the paint is dry. Seems to protect it a lot from the salt and sun. Good Luck. Hope this helps!

I'm going to do mine in another month or so, my plan is to use this stuff- http://www.por15.com/ , since mine is 15 years old and definitely has some rust. Then primer and topcoat it. I've used it on small stuff and seems pretty good (but pretty expensive) so I hope it works well on the frame. I'm not looking forward to all the washing, cleaning and prep work though. :biggrin_25513:

Eastwood company. Rust encapsulator. Used it on classic restorations. Works good. Brush it or spray it. Eggshell finish. OR paint it.

Every spring cleanup, I clean up the frame and touch up all the spots starting to show rust with Rustoleum after taking a green scrubby pad to the spots. Staying on top of this yearly will save a lot of problems later.

they've used it for years and they still rust in the first 2 yrs unless you never come up north. They need to cut the frames to length, drill the holes and powdercoat them.

    Hi All,

I don't know how the usual reply should be/new to the site, however Don2WS , do you have the name of the paint you used, so I can order online and if able the ball park price I would be expected to pay for it??

    Thanks
