Ok, I DO NOT KNOW what type of drug screening tests they order up at Crete.

But for the most part, I'll "surmise" it is the usual urine test.

What you may want to try and understand, is that when someone asks such a question regarding drug or alcohol testing, it does immediately lend itself to the o/p as being a person that is worried about such a testing procedure.

Now, also, when an o/p says that he (or she) is inquiring for a "friend, or relative, or whom ever", this also leads to speculation that it IS the o/p that is the one who is worried about such procedures and trying to "ward off" any speculation. However, this ALWAYS backfires, as you have been a witness to.

So in the end, I'd have to say, that if this is a serious question you need an answer for, then someone is worried about passing such a testing procedure, and maybe perhaps NEED NOT get into trucking.

It is my "personal belief" that anyone so concerned about drug testing, is only trying a way to circumvent the drug screening policies and testing procedures, in order to continue using drugs.

We need not have anyone like that in this industry. As when that person or persons screw up and hurt, maim or kill someone, we as an industry suffer the consequences by having more and more rules, regulations, and laws brought onto us.

Now maybe for whom you are asking this question for does not have a computer, or cannot get onto the internet, or is very busy with school, and a job, and family, still is no valid reason why he/she cannot ask to use your computer, or the public library to gain internet access.

This is just my 2¢ worth of information to you as to why there is and will continue to be too much, "speculation" about you and you in particular for asking such a question.

Finally, if you have been here as long as you say, certainly you have read more than one board here. And in so doing, haven't you read any threads about drug screening at all, and gained any valuable information regarding testing procedures and the bull whipping some have taken, long before you asked????

Some of you need to lighten up. Smoking some weed does not make a person a drug addict.

It is possible that some people may have done some recreational use before they decided to commit to becoming a trucker. Now they are just worried about screwing up their chances by failing a drug test for something they did 30 or 90 days ago, depending on the test. There's no need to treat them like heroin addicts.

What I find interesting about your comment, "recreational use", implies to me at least, that "recreational use" applies to every weekend.

I see no need for "recreational use" of drugs. Then try to find ways around passing any tests.

And before you or anyone else says that "recreational use" of drinking beer or drinking alcohol is just as bad as drugs, forgedaboudit.

Just as serious if driving under the influence, YES, but not usually a pre-screening for that. Given too that many times, after X number of hours, one will not blow any measurable numbers.

But the o/p was just inquiring, and many others did jump onto him for sure.

To me recreational use means once in a blue moon. Every weekend is bordering on chronic use.

In my scenario nobody is looking to get around a test. They just want to be sure they can put it behind them and move forward.

Whether the laws are good or not is not a discussion I want to get into. It is what it is. The tests are what they are.

Well that is your view on "recreational use". :biggrin_25514:

However, those that wish to "recreate" find a "blue moon" every chance they can see one.:biggrin_25513:

I read this and thought to my self I try to re-create (how it sounded in my mind) a lot how is that illegal? LOL I then took subject matter into account and realized it was recreate not re-create. :biggrin_25523:

So since this thread has been railroaded already, anyone know if companies that do follicle test can do it in place of a DOT urine test or is in addition to a standard test?

    Usually, it's in addition to.

However, certain segments of the industry require annual testing of ALL drivers. And those want hair follicle test.

Not saying they don't do the pee test too. Just saying they do an annual hair follicle.

I thought that was extacy users?

Man, I'd pay to see that LOL

A room full of X and roid users !

Bet I could sell tickets, popcorn, and beer. And take 6 months off afterwards.

Hell it would make "pro wrestling" obsolete.

I have not only heard that I've seen it in practice. I do not agree with it just for the simple fact that a newly married couple buying a house may be a little debt heavy. That doesn't mean they are bad people.
