Chances are you'll always start at the bottom no matter how much exp you have. It'll take yrs before you prove yourself to them.I'm a local driver and seen an ad today for this job, make up to $160.00 a day and an occassional saturday.I have yet to work any Saturdays and have yet to see$160.00 a day.I make 50 to 100 a day and no work today.I've been here 2 months.

Companies really glamour up their ads, websites what ever to lure the applicants in and you never find out the real deal till you're working for them and then they wonder why so many unhappy employees and such a huge turnover rate.Heck I was under the assumption id be making some good money.

Well, if you can live and work in the same compartment that easily

    adds to the bottom line...

Better to be indigent in a truck than under a bridge...

Not much better.I guess it depends who you drive for. Then raises, you can forget that.Companies save raises for the big wheels.I asked a driver last week if he's ever got a raise and he said with a very serious look,a what?lmao.Like he's never heard of that word, lol. He's been with my company 5 yrs and another for 9 neither has had a raise.

It works both ways. Potential new hires claim they worked somewhere for "2 years", when in reality it was 19 months. Or make it sound like they lost their previous job because the bossman was an a-hol. Certainly not their fault, right ?

I would last until my first check or settlement if I only made $50-100 a day. IMO anyone that gets that few of miles or hours, which ever it is should be looking elsewhere.

This really shouldn't be happening anymore. Driver verifications are required and any company that doesn't do them is just asking for those kinds of people. Kinda like having a drug testing program that never test's anyone.

I'm working local at the moment before going Long Haul in May. I make 140$ a day. Take home between 500-550$ a week.

Not bad if you working 8 hour days....remember OTR will make a higher net paycheck but you will have more expenses than being home every night too.

a while ago, i used to work at sysco, my pay was very close to that listed high and i was newly employed. hard work and lots of hours, but 1200-1500 a week after taxes plus benefits and good waist line :biggrin_25521: made it all worthwhile, until i got laid off couple of times and finally had to give up on it :biggrin_25525:
