Just got a flyer from the pumpkin company, looks like a dedicated deal in TN,GA,SC and AL. Also looks like it's a dry box gig(yuk), i like the tank business much better. Just wondering if someone here could give me the inside scoop, thanks.

I got the same flyer in the mail. I talked to a couple of recruiters and they told me it is for the Advance Auto Parts distribution center in Thomson, GA. I was told multiple stops and hand unload.

Might not be to bad a gig, i filled out the online application yesterday and a girl from recruiting called today to set up a phone interview for tomorrow. Did you talk money with them, how it's going to pay? I told my wife today that I can't believe i'm even thinking of going to work for schneider. Doesn't look like much of anyone else is hiring though, tough times sho nuff.

It won't be a mistake. My wife razzed my ### for a month when I started here.

Everytime, she was yappin, I thought you said you would NEVER go to work for Schneider.

Now she threatens to cut my throat if she catches me looking at another companies ads.

If you can't get the dedicated account. Shoot for regional or home run.

Money on dedicated is good. No worries.

please tell me they dont start you out with just .30 a mile? i was always told never start anywhere for less than .35 im in the army going to guard in a couple years and i know some companies dont recognize us truck drivers in the service so i just dont want to be thrown into over the road and slapped with .30 a mile. im hoping for .34 and above with regional or dedicated.. probably not local right away.

I dunno how they do the guys with the military experience.

Couple guys on here might be able to tell you.

But, they are one of the most active recruiters of military.

Couldn't tell you, I never went to work there. I'm currently hauling gas locally. I haven't posted here in a long time, but there used to be a section on the board for specific carriers or companies. Try and find some guys that do work for Schneider and see what they think. If you go to work for them, I would try and get into the tanker division. I like tank work better than any other freight I've ever pulled, good luck and thanks for your service!

    Cajun,

They got lots of tanker work. They scared me with the schedule. Or I might have went.

Seems if they don't have a local. It's 3 weeks out, then home. And they do offer a lot of dedicated work. Haven't seen any on the company web site in a few weeks though.

It does pay extra. But I can't recall what pay diff is.

Been a long time my friend, glad it's working out for you. It just depends on his status. If I were single and getting out of the service, I'd go OTR! Just stack the money up in the bank, buy a house and pay cash and then try and find something local or regional. Tank work is the easiest freight to haul. No sitting around for hours upon hours at a loading dock or warehouse. Generally, If you have a product in a tanker, the consignee is usually waiting for it. Easy load, easy unload, that's the way I like it.
