After I learned sugar was bad for you, I switched to cyclamates. Then I learned that they were bad for you so I switched to saccharin. That was bad, so off to aspartame. Then came Stevia.
    Now I don't believe anyone.
I've switched for the last time.
I drink plain water, sweetened with Jack.

Be careful with this as well. The sodium content and chemicals in this are really no better than the sodas. In fact, many of the same ingredients exist in these as well.

I know this from changing my dietary habits and seeing this first hand. Try stevia. You can get it in a ton of different flavors and thus far they've found no harmful side effects or abnormal reactions.

I drink at least 2 double gulps of diet Coke a day. Always have. I like soda, and If I drank the regular stuff with corn syrup I would be a diabetic now. In fact, when I was a young man, I used to drink the regular stuff and quit cause I started getting headaches all the time.

Maybe I'm addicted, but I love the stuff.

Aspartame is binded together with wood alcohol and is being attributed to Cancer. you may not get out alive, but you don't have to suffer and go through the agonizing pain of chemotherapy either.

Aspartame is also so sweet, your brain thinks its sugar and secretes insulin anyway. It has nothing to do with you not being a diabetic...you've just been lucky and haven't tested positive for it.

Yeah, health claims have a way of being hard to prove. As bad as the FDA might be if people were getting diabetes from aspartame, it would be pulled. And the cancer tests are done on rats given a dose that would equal more than 21 cans of soda a day in humans, before it even begin to have any increase in cancer rates.

Here is Wikapedia's article on it

Finally the most important thing about eating healthy are Portion control and variety. Just like everybody was always told, but everybody wants to find the magic thing that is gonna make them better. The overwhelming majority of fat people (including myself) are fat and/or unhealthy because of how much they eat, not what they eat.

Yeah, because Wikipedia is a credible scholarly journal. Money drives the world. The FDA denied the application for Nutri-Sweet was denied and yet the next week is magically appeared on store shelves. Your government cares nothing about you. Surely you aren't that naive sir.

Yeah the goverment is trying to kill us,.... oh wait, lifespan is longer than it has been at any time in the history of humanity.

I like Diet Coke, and I probably always drink it, until I decide I don't want to. Freedom of choice is one of the hallmarks of this country, and I never trust anyone who feels the need to badger other people about their habits. It's rarely about caring about other people and usually about trying to show they are a better than other people.
