I've heard people raving about Jubitz. I wouldn't know. I don't remember ever finding a place to park there at any time of night.:biggrin_2558:
I still hate Portland. I got caught off guard by a sudden split in the highway going around a curve. Also those moments of "What the hey is this hill doing here?" I think I remember going over the wrong bridge once, too.
It's a good thing when CFI got bought by Con-way, the Con-way Freight allowed CFI drivers to use their terminal as a shut down location.
I don't drive for them anymore. They darn near ran me ragged.

    ##### and moan all you want about an OS taking up 2 spaces, but I do it everytime. I don't need some half awake drive backing into what I have overhanging my trailer. Hell, half of them can barely back into a spot with a 102" wide truck on both sides. How many times have we all seen a truck back into another one??? No thanks

BTW, I'm taking up 2 spaces tonight at the Pilot because I'm 10' wide on this load ;)

Some of my favorite spots for bobtail parking include... Next to the scale. Next to a dumpster. Up in a gore line section.

There used to be a lot more truck stops in the Portland area. The parking at the TA in Wilsonville was ok for parking but they have been gone for a long time.

Okay. Almost anywhere. Without the trailer it's basically a big car.

Answer me this, if they get to the truck stop and there is no bobtail spots to use then were are they supposed to park?

I will tell you this, if I am bobtailing and the only bobtail spots are up front close to the fuel island and have huge lights fully lighting up the area and the cab of the truck, then the last place I am going to pick is the bobtail spot.

I don't like parking near all noise etc. But then I don't care for parking in rest areas because bad things happen in rest areas.

    Motownfire Thanks this.

The state of Ohio seems to be offering a special on parking lately.

"Park in any of our rest stops and receive a free level 1 inspection."

Those bad things that tend to happen to us truck drivers in rest areas and truck stop parking lots is one of the main reasons my copilot is my good buddy Glock 27.

So you would take a space from a rv that's set up for them?
