I was self employed over 30 years. A letter from my accountant was sufficent

New hires forget that it is Federal law and not the companies that are making it hard for you to get signed onto a carrier.

There must be a continuous line of employment with no more then 30days in any 1 gap without tax records, school transcripts, unemployment records or Notarized letters of references that state what you where doing during longer then 30days without being employed.

I went through the same thing at USX after being a Owner OP and then having around a 6mo gap. Had to get two notarized statements for that gap before they would even let me come to their cattle call in OKC.

It sounds to me like there was something else going on since they wanted you to reapply in 6 mo's. That doesn't make sense if it was just a matter of getting what was required for them to start the hiring process. But then again it is a OTR carrier, so anything is possible.

I love the way people rag on companies, based on what they hear.
No company is best for all. While Stevens may be the dirth for some, it's great for others.
I drive for Stevens. I make good money (over $70), I get home when I want. I have no illusions. I've been around this business too long.
I also know GOOD drivers that have had nothing but problems with Stevens.
    It's a matter of fit.
You need to decide for yourself. If you don't get hired by Stevens, there are plenty of other companies out there. Find one that fits you.
It's like dating. You just have to find the right one.

    DUJO and Quietroads Thank this.
