Stevens has some warts. All companies do. All training companies have long lists of disgruntled drivers. Nature of the business as many turn to trucking as a last resort for a job and find out it is not for them, and then have to pay for the training after they quit.
You have found the aviary, read, you will get an honest view of stevens. Those of us that post are not recruiters but drivers, and some have even left stevens but still share.
What is good for me may not be good for you. I am still here after 4 years, so for me they are good. Yet at times the warts show, and I vent and rant and even rage.

TL is correct. You will see most of the negative posts are from newbies, people with little to no experience. Yes, the first 5-6 months are tough. But if you want top notch training and a chance to succeed, you would be hard pressed trying to top them. I went through the school 15 years ago and have never regretted it.

And here is the biggest problem with stevens... empty at 0900 this lovely monday morning... and no pre plan, not even an idea what my next load will be...And the 14 hour clock is ticking, as Kodak is not 24/7. only monday thru friday, 8 to 4...
Now stevens has the capability to know how many trucks they have in an area, and how many are coming into the area, and what loads are available... but think the driver can get an answer? nope, nothing nada... big dark secret....
Now to top it off, the dispatch computer, showed me pre planned to pick a load up today in Laredo... although I was dispatched out of laredo to windsor co on sunday...
There is definitely some programming errors in the dispatch system.
Didn't take long for me to rant...
Small things make truckers happy,
Lack of planning and communication and I begin to vent, rant... -
Well my load turned out not to be a Walmart, but another customer.
This customer use to be mine when I had my business...one of the first six I had.
My how things come round full circle!
And to make things more interesting, they are located across the street from my old business.
Emptied, new load assignment.
Pick up at 2000 and head north. -
A question for the Alliance guys; Do you have the option to purchase your truck instead of turning it back in even though it is not a lease purchase agreement?
I know Stevens sells trucks but can it be as specific as the one you have been driving? -
Yes it is possible. Have to give written notice 30 days before the end of the lease of intent to purchase. Truck also has to have been in the fleet for 30 months.Dryver Thanks this.
