kay if you are talking about going out with a trainer it really depends on your trainer and how well you grasp it. i was with my trainer for 2 wks and hauled nothing but steel products and my first load was lumber. even if you are loading something you have never loaded or are unsure about you can call safety or your trainer and they will help you. my biggest issue is waiting, either on shipper, consignee or waiting on maverick on load. i am not as enthusiastic about maverick sometimes as notrarps but overall they are good company

How are the trainers at mav? Some bad some good? Im just ready to get my class A and get started, but I'm having a heck of a time trying to get it. My wife told me that I should take some of our income tax money and go to school to get it. She said she would get a job while I went to school, she stays home with my daghter right now. I told her that would work out pretty good but man I hate to spend that much money.

Maverick will pay for you to get you're CDL. you dont have to do it before you go. In return they want you to drive for them for at least 6 months.

That would be fine but like I said I have to wait nine months just to get started. That was about a month and a half ago when I talked to the recruiter. It may be more than nine months now, who knows? I'm gonna call them again tommorow and ask them again. Maybe it has shortened a little. I'm just so ready to do this. I hate waiting.

kay my trainer was pretty good but like other companies you are going to have people that have the ability to be trainers but not people skills. if you can get your A before you go to little rock you would be fine. chances are you would be with your trainer for 6 weeks which would probably be to your advantage. but like the other guy said maverick pays for training and if you drive for 6 months you owe nothing. but like i was saying it would probably be easier to get your A then apply at maverock

Thanks for the reply bundy. I talked to the recruiter today, same woman I always talk to, I can't remember her name. Anyway she said to go ahead and fill out the app and send it in and in the meantime I'm going to try to get my class a and if for some reason I don't get it by the time they call for the school I'll go ahead and go to the school.
