Would you rather a video telling a lie? -
I have been a part time OTR driver since 2008 (though I drove OTR for years before becoming a part time driver). I am now being told that I will need a refresher course either paid by me, or the company I choose to work for. I have to say that I detest pulling a reefer or a dry van, not that I mind pulling the trailers, but that I mind the shippers and receivers wasting my time that I could be earning money. With that in mind I thought I would try flat beds again, I pulled a flat bed when I first started driving. Well while I am tall, I don't think I could swing 120lb tarp shoulder high. So after speaking with a friend of mine, he suggested tanks. So, here is my question, are there any tank companies that will do a refresher course and train for tanks at the same time? I really don't want to spend much more then 30 days with a stranger in his/her truck.
Helpful ideas and thoughts always welcome. -

for training i got keys...lol
then my first introduction to a smooth bore was ok go grab this 9000 gallon capacity trailer and go load this heavy liquid where 6300 gallons is a max legal load. no mention that it was a smooth bore trailer, that was fun, thought i got rear ended when i grabbed 2nd...lol took me a second to figure out wtf just happened. -
after pulling dry van, going to try local tanker (fuels) I keep hearing about shifting while pulling liquids. What is the scoop on shifting while pulling a tanker? Would appreciate some insights. Thanks

pulling fuel liquid effects will be minimal, baffled and compartmentalized really cuts down on liquid movement. just take your corners slower than you would otherwise and drive smooth and you will have no issue, smooth bore is a whole nother beast
flyingtejano Thanks this. -
