You do know you can take them back to red wing and they take are of them for you. They redo something and they came back looking new but whatever it is it takes at least 24 hours and they won't let the boot leave the store before that. Thats when you get your new laces.

I wear craftsman shoes from sears for foodservice. They are steal toe and slip resistant. Had to buy em cause I slipped when my shoes got a lil wet on a greasy ### floor going down stairs. They held up good so far had to put dr scholls in em for more comfort. My company says you have to wear steal toe but you can get away with sneakers but if you get a foot injury it's your butt. Rather have steals cause a heavy case landing on the foot hurts like hell. If these fall apart I'll try the redwings next time.

I prefer to take care of my own boots, only takes about an hour to clean them up and rewax them, about the only time I plan on my boots going away is when I drop them off to get resoled.

My store gives me as many sets of laces as I want when I go, the salesman said that the lace company that was contracted changed the design, so all the laces suck now, and they just blow out fast.

BTW, Red Wing makes top of the line belts made in the USA as well. much better than a cheap crap foreign belt.

My feet and back are very picky.

I had my feet sized at the red wing shop, bought a $180 dollar pair. They felt great in the store. But after a half hour in the field my back was killing me.

I never did figure out why. I bought another pair of $80 caterpillars or whatever. They felt great and wore them for a long time. I kept trying the red wings and same affect.

I have a pair of size 11 with hardly any use, if anyone is interested.
