Mr. tazz I read your post and the way you tell it, If I ran accross many officers like that one My negative view may start to change of them.
Would mind sharing the report and MC number and date so I could look this officer up and invite him to this forum. Sounds like he may have something valueble to add here.

I filed a complaint with DOT.....It probably went straight to File #13...

So to CYA...Whenever I run 25 up through Trinidad...I never put more than 46K on the wagon....Yep....Some of the shippers get pizzed....But they don't pay for citations.....

And running with 1/2 tank of fuel puts me at 78K with a load like that....

I know the scales are off because I have been pulled in at Monument and Dumont for being overladen with legal loads and legal axles weights....

I always insist I either back or go around (Trinidad) to reweigh and stop until the scale settles....Some of the DOT are so eager to look good, that they see the numbers roll and pick the highest weight.....:biggrin_2556:

I don't sweat CO over-gross tickets anyways.....IIRC...The last one I got 3 years ago was $43.....Half the fine goes for some "Childrens' Fund"....Or so it says on the fine.....:biggrin_25523:

I was pulled inside that scale once and I guess it was because my truck hadn't crossed into Colorado in some time so he checked all my permits, registration, and such. It was kinda late and he was alone so I guess maybe he needed something to do. :biggrin_2559:

i wonder if the NM scale has an emergency stockroom. i can just see them getting snowed in there, lol.

That happens if that's the first time you've crossed that CO scale that year. Once they input your numbers, you should be good but sometimes if you're through another scale from another way, you'll need to do it again.

Also, if you go into CO, make sure your last 8 of your VIN are clearly visible on both sides of your truck. Otherwise they may call you in to look at your registration for it.

Look, you know that points are added for the warning... period. This IS the freaken punishment! That cannot be contested by due process of the law...(DataQ is not due process) What makes this hard to grasp?

So, technology also exsists that has a high likelihood of cloning human beings? Does that mean we should?

Also, you are saying that one warning doesn't mean much with the points that it gives... but I say ANY points that a warning can give without due process to contest it is too much. If a warning cannot be compaired to a citation what is the reasoning for tracking warnings? If a violation is bad enough to deem a citation so be it then it can at least be contested legally.

Lastly, the time to contest a warning or citation is NOT at the traffic stop. That is what due process of the law is for in the freaken first place.

You talking about the Raton S/B P.O.E.?

I was shut-down for three days there once.....
I had an OD load and then the wind came up.....They had me pull over and sit.....

NM doesn't allow weekend travel on OD loads....So there I sat for Sat and Sun too.....:biggrin_2556:
