Pablo, we have this problem with our older Mack CH's. Specifically the rear of the frame, above the rear drive where the torque arm bolts to the frame. My boss usually will send the truck out to a frame shop, they grind it to the bare metal, weld the area, then weld a plate to both sides of the cracked area (with holes drilled to allow the torque arms to mount), then we reattach new torque arms. Mack knew this was a problem, so the have installed a reinforcing plate in those areas, but then it rusts out because they don't weld the plate to the frame properly.

How old are the CH's Striker??? And I'll help you too, the E-7 water pump bolts are too short. Get the longer ones with the sleeves from dog for about $35 per engine.

It's highly doubtful "DOT" officials in eastern Europe/west Russia are very much concerned about a welded frame...

no rage i dont think its an OOS..i had a 2000 t600 that i had a 3rd axle put on. the frame had to be lengthened 14 inches. the shop cut the frame and welded new frame pieces in and then put a smaller frame channel on the inside and welded it all together. then put the axle mounts over the welded area and never had any problems. dot checked the truck many times and never said a word about the welds.

if they find the crack, depending on where it's at and how bad it is, it's an OOS tow away ticket
