End fuel Taxes that are beyond what a non commercial vehicle has to pay.
End fees for needless permits.
Decrease the amount of DOT by 75% on the highways stealing Time and money from drivers and trucking outfits.Dont move a truck for anything over $1.50 per gallon, unless uncle sam is flipping the bill for the rest. sense he decided it was ok to stop using rubber to build the highways rather then oil.Knowing he was robbing the american people blind when he done so.
Let uncle sam find where the pay cuts need to be from his workers to re-pay this debt,Rather then forcing the ones he stole from in the first place to Re-pay it.
Re-direct the above savings to the drivers checks and medical Benefits.

well mario so tell me how many miles can you get with the redlight on most i have run is 67 miles on a thursday
-
I have a T660 and I have done over 150 miles with the red light on. Didn't have any problems.

Get ya a long thin stick, that will fit thru that anti-siphon device, and measure various levels as you drive. That way, when your strecthing it out, you'll know just how far you can go. Usually have @ 30 gals left when on E.
-
I overspent on fuel. I was burning rubber to try to deliver early so that my 10 hour DOT wouldn't get in the way, but ended up having that happen anyway as they turned me away from early deliver AND told me I couldn't stay on the lot so that I could bump the dock while logging off duty. Ended up costing me in the long run through my fuel economy. I also fueled up in a place in Texas where the price per gallon was $4.11. Never again(I'm looking at YOU Florida).

I went from Oak Grove MO to Louisville KY on 45 gallons of fuel. I think I went about 200 miles bumping off the bottom.
I think my range is restricted because for some reason, this truck thinks my tanks are only 80 gallons each, give or take. Every tick mark is about 22 gallons. -
Round fuel tanks are notorious for fuel gauge problems. At the top (F) it moves fast, then in the middle (between 3/4 and 1/4) moves a bit slower. From 1/4 to E is gradual and like the guy said, you have about 20 usable gallons when it is on E. That equals about 110 safe miles for you at 6MPG. It is better to fuel, keep track of how much fuel you have on board and use the QC (if it is there) to keep track of the real fuel amount used. I almost never let my truck go below 1/4, and try to end the week with empty tanks, as fuel in the truck means money not in the paycheck for momma. Exception of the rule: Good week and in a cheap fuel state I fuel up to the max regardless.
Also, get to know your company fuel discounts and the state fuel taxes. You might pay 4.11 in a state that is actually cheaper. EX: I was in MI, price of fuel 4.02 and fuel tax was .41. After the fuel tax and company discount, I paid 3.48 per gallon. -
I think I just get a straight discount based off what Trans Am gets at the pump. I pay 1 cent per mile in fuel taxes. I think I won't get any overpaid back until my fuel taxes are reconciled.
