That, and only buying as much fuel as you need for each trip. CRE charges you for your fuel on a trip by trip basis.

I honestly hope you do make it. I have faith that you will. I have a 2yr degree I business and have run 2 businesses...one in SoCal and one in Ia and I would have never sold my business in Ia if it weren't for the fact my wife and I moved to Phx. I know how to run a business and going over the England business guide if u look at it closely and read between the lines, its set up to make the company money while hot really helping the drivers that much. Way too many variables and costs hot only for the truck but also out of pocket expenses for drivers hot mentioned.

The book has some good ideas gut also some bad business practices. One in particular is if you as an L/O ran the miles given say 2800mis in a week and followed the fuel stops and mileage given as an example then after all costs for fuel, permits, maintanace costs, etc ur check would be $421. Now we know that a normal driver could prob do more his but that depends on hrs and p/u time del time, etc.

I know alot of time I ran alot more mis and made that much sometimes less. Just watch yourself. My best friend who was also a trainee of mine quit England after 6mos when he got his own truck cuz they promised him all sorts of stuff and pay mileage on a dedicated and screwed him.

You know the first thing I always told my trainees when they stepped on my truck was....Forget what England told you in class...this is the real world. And all my trainees were passed by me cuz I gave them a taste of what they were gonna need. I also was a very patient friendly helpful trainer where some of my trainees actually asked me if they could team up with me. I do speak my mind. This is me... I try not to offend or hurt anyone I just say what I think someone needs to hear whether its what they wanna hear or not.

You are on for the dinner....as far as being good....do I have to....lol.

Cornieleous....yes that's true however what this fuel stops don't take into acct is the amount of fuel u use and what kind of terrain u are going over and the amount ofbwieght u have onboard. Many times I was carrying 38000lbs plus going over the Rockies and my fuel stop said get only 60gals. Hell I could use that up before I hit the Ut state line.

Also in order to get the fuel cap you had to average above 5mis a gal. When was the last time you were driving a 3yr old truck with 475,000mis on the motor going over the Rockies with 38,000lbs and averaged 5mis a gal. And you had to have that average that mileage for the entire week.

Hey Ornery I agree with you bout the whole truck in in general....despite all the bad I would never change a thing. Its the best job in the world. The good far out wiegh the bad. Waking up in Mt in the summer, seeing a Thunderstorm roll in the eve while in Kansas or Neb...I would not trade it for nothing.

I think things will work out alot better at Stevens, they seem to treat their drivers alot better, those I have talked to and the office people seem to talk to drivers like people not numbers. I am sorry I had to wait a yr to get back out hut once things got settled and my wife and I had a serious talk she knew I was not gonna be happy till I got back out, so gave me her blessing.

Ooooh sorry bout that....hope all works out well. I have been married 14yrs this year and have had plenty of arguments with my wife, yet we always work it out....generally in her favor. Sis just got a divorce two months ago and she was married 21yrs. Am still friends with her es...in fact he drove the 5hrs Sunday to pick me up and bring me down here for school. He's like a brother to me and my sis threatened me not to hate him cuz we are so close. It was amicable. Think happy thoughts.

Yeah those witches in the IC department are pretty worthless. They accidentally charged me for a repair that was done to another truck and it took them 3 weeks to reimburse me. Every time I called they acted like I was asking for their first born.
