Nice man, that's cool that they've keep it in the same condition as it was back in the film... although that probably means just leaving in the desert for 40 years, heh.

you don't wanna drive teams for CRST. Do solo driving with England. I heard they are a very good company. do you wanna share a tiny truck with another smelly guy?

Pretty much what Bigjoel stated, the sample of the disgruntled writers does not accurately portrait the other millions of drivers out there.

Want to get a rosy color go to the good company to work for site, not entirely true either.

Somewhere in between, and with some caution, since only Bad news seems to travel faster and in more abundance then Good news, your motive(s), your gut feeling and some courage to start something new, will let you arrive to the Right decision.

I read this board as a lurker for 2 years, got some good and some bad from it, and lots of entertainment:biggrin_255:, but overall it has strenghten my vision to do it.

Completing my CDL in the next 3 weeks, and going for the "Pumkin" after lots of research, good luck to all of those sitting on the fence, but ask yourself what can you loose?

the single most imporntant factor is attitude. If you can manage to keep a positive attitude the whole time, you will be golden.
Once you start to get a slight bad attitude, it snowballs and before you know it you have a REALLY bad attitude. And your work suffers.

These data bases are yet another affront to our privacy and human dignity. Over the past 50 years our citizenry has given away it's collective honor through indifference. The credit ratings and dac dossiers are A good example of how we permit ourselves to be smeared , behind our collective backs, simply by participating. I have filled out applications that culminated with signing an authorization to be submitted for DAC review. That part never happened. A recruiter called me once and inquired why I was fired by JB Hunt. I never worked for jb hunt, but had attended an application session in Columbus that I never completed. I left , with their knowledge, prior finishing the process. So , I am listed as simply A 1 time employee who was terminated ? Funny I never got any paychecks ! Credit reports ditto. When you read through these things you are shocked by the innacuracies and confusion contained therein. As in all the " employee at will" states , where you can be fired at anytime , for any reason , or no reason at all , we have not demanded that our representatives look out for our best interests. Lord Have Mercy on The Workin' Man !

On what do you base your opinion that C.R. England is "a very good company?"

You're almost there MileageMax, --- three short weeks.

Has Schneider shown interest in puttin' you in a Big truck driver's seat?
Or is Schneider the company that you've set your sights on?
For what it's worth, IMO, your research did you well. They're not the easiest company to get on with, but, again IMO, one of the better companies to get started in the industry, and even to remain with rather than makin' a career of job hoppin'.

As for your question, "but ask yourself what can you lose?" (spelling correction) -------
---- Just out of curiosity, did you ask yourself that question? And, if so, what was your answer?

I realize the answer would depend largely upon the individual, and some would have less to lose while others would have a great deal to lose. I assume most folks would prefer to lose nothing, but rather gain as a result of their chosen path. Those with much may be able to withstand some loss, but those startin' out with very little could not afford to lose as much as one who has more. Those with more to lose may be able to recover any loss easier than those with only enough to get 'em by.
Consider the loss of a hundred dollars to a millionaire compared to the same loss for someone flat broke with no income, --- and a family of five to feed and shelter. Would the loss be the same?

Sometimes those with less have more to lose. And even one wrong choice could be all it takes to spell unrecoverable financial disaster. To those with little, every decision made is an important decision. Playin' pin the tail on the company to start with while blindfolded isn't a luxury that some folks can afford to play.

I realize that there are those who would say it doesn't matter which company is chosen to start with, ...... that they're all the same.
    I disagree.
How many times have we read posts from those who quit driving as a direct result of the shabby treatment experienced at the starter company that they chose?
Make no mistake, that first choice does matter. It just might be the most important choice to be made if their intent is to make Big truck truckin' their chosen career.

That bein' said, I wish you the best of success Max.
Please keep us posted on how you're doin'.

Hello people that look for trucking companies I was traing an Guy at Carolina Cargo this past weekend he was an #### good driver and all he had on his record was past driving without an licence, habitual offender,an low class felony 7 yrs ago as I can remember. anyway I slept like an baby the guy drove with no problems and turning curves with an 53 ft trailor like no other and was the safest trainee i ever trained. the man got sick cause he had forgot his meds, blood pressure and he wanted to go home but the owner,Billy told the man no an call his doctor to get an perscription sent to the state we were in. we was in Oklahoma but he had already had an 90 day supply given to him it was just in the car on the yard where he forgot to get them when we left from SC.by law it is illegal for an doctor to rewrite an perscription like that without seeing him.I told the dispactch and the owner of Carolina Cargo and they told me to put him out of the truck and leave him stranded if he couldnt drive. I couldnt do that so I drove the man to the bus station so he could get help to get medical attention soon as he arrive home, the man was an #### good driver and i hated to see him go. Carolina Cargo is an low class sorry company to want me to leave that man on the side of the road, health and safety suppose to come first when operating these trucks.so if any trucker wants to give in to go to an company dont go to carolia cargo, they dont care for their drivers,no medical, dental, nor life ins. no pay but 10 cents an mile three trips back to back to california before you get an day off then start the same run over again.unsafe trucks and seriously convicted felons even child molestors are here.Im leaving soon and hope the brother that had to get medical help on his own is ok he was the best and an decent guy.but leaving an man to stroke out possible I couldnt do. carolina cargo is gona get theirs one day soon.people beware of them cause this company is dangerous, lie for their drivers and cover up defective trucks, seriously convicted felons and so on.I hope an company give this man an chance that was driving with me that got ill he deserves to be with an real decent company thats willing to give him an chance, carolina cargo isnt the place for decent drivers.

new at this trending thing but after reading about 200 or more post on here about so call'ed bad company's i gotta wonder if there is even one good company out there.seem's like every company i have heard of is commented on here from big to small.myself been driving 27yrs otr for all kind's of company's and the one common trend i have seen is no matter what no company can make everyone happy no matter what they do.as for the leaseing a truck thing i to have fell victim to it once and that was enough for me and would advise anyone thinking about doing to not do it. it is a no win deal for you and all out win for the company that lesse'es the truck to you.

Followed back to it's origins this type of disregard for common decency , human dignity and honor is rooted in the mushrooming dictatorship that governs trucking. Franklin opined that A man who relinquishes his freedoms for saety/security deserves neither. A good thought , since both are illusions anyway . The fact of the matter is that you are never secure or safe.We have armies of slugs tripping over themselves formulating solutions in search of problems. Do we ask for stats? How has the draconian savaging of due process, privacy and the constitution benefitted drivers and the public ? Sleeve
