    hey all i have a 379 pete with a 3406c cat with a 15 over and 3.55 gears i was wondering what all kind of benfits i would get out of advancing the pump timming and how does it need to be done and how much i need to go with it ive turned the fuel up three rounds

    The Cs should be set to 17.5° or 18° BTDC instead of the stock federal government setting.

    I've had problems with the 3/8" bolts stretching/breaking when torquing tight. CAT claims I think 40 or 45lb/ft but in any other literature I find a grade 8 oiled bolt should only be torqued to 35 lb/ft which is what I do mine at with no ill effects. I use CAT bolts.

    What did they set at stock and what beenfits will i gain goin to 17.5 or 18* thanks for the info
