You must have been thinking 40. My wife and I ran 84 through OR all winter of 2010 and the scales were open both east and west every time we went through there. Was accused of running the north bound side scales on 97 at Goldendale WA. He finally gave me a warning after I proved to him that the temp sign still said closed.
Sure glad I don't have to play with those communist a-holes in OR or WA any longer.

Well I didn't know I was over gross at all. The truck pulled good and the tires aren't buldging at all. I didn't know till I scaled it. And it's my own fault I wait till here to do it. I just wanted to get out of town on a Friday and now I'm gonna have to pay for it.

I hear you SHC. I like to get loaded asap and get in and out.
And yes rooster OR is possibly the worst state to drive in. ridiculous. -
I wouldn't do it on a regular basis but I have been across there from San Jacinto to Dallas loaded with potatoes running 80,600 with 1/2 load of fuel in a Pete 387 and a 53' reefer and never been tagged. Luckily, the east bound scales at Banning were closed and so were the ones comming into AZ. NM never said a word and we were only licensed to 80,000.
Just living right I guess. -
Just 480 lbs, make your girlfriend get out and walk past the scales.
kubotaorange76, SHC and starsonwindow Thank this. -
Better watch your ### up there as they are collaborating big time. WA had the new camera's installed that ID your license plate and get the time between scales. I got a level 2 at cascade locks (I-84 WB) and they asked for last fuel receipt and any other receipts (in which I said I dont keep, lol) and she called the Huntington scale to verify my time across. She also had the calculator out for my logs, she was trying hard but nothing to find. -
All outbound scales in Az. been closed for years, since they quit using that little card thingy you had to show at POE. However Az. does use roving DOT cops for enforcement and sometimes sets up in closed rest areas.

Been there done that. I NEVER admit I keep fuel receipts. I keep them but I bury them in an envelope under the mattress. No law that says you have to keep them in the truck. When I drove for Air Ride Transport, we had a driver who got a speeding ticket sent to his house for 57 mph in a 55 mph zone between the last two scales east bound on I 84. They clocked his speed by the time he cleared each of the scales. Cost him $400.00. The officer who accused me of running the scales in WA told me that OR and WA are installing internet cams to catch the plates on trucks and make sure they are not trying to run around the scales.
Face it....with the new electronics, we don't stand a fighting chance.
That's one of the MANY reasons I called them communist a-holes in an earlier post. -
You will be fine.

Yeah, I think the fact I'm 480# over has passed. Now I'm pissed more that they put 51,000# on my truck. I'm going to call the agent in the morning and tell him to raise the rate or I'm going back to get the entire truck unloaded. Cuz this is ######## !!!
