Well Im finally making the step to O/O. The trailer I have is a 1992 trailmobile flatbed. I remember as a company driver every now and then I would load at a shipper that had a 10 year age requirement on trailers being loaded there. Im wondering how often I might encounter this. Is it enough of a factor that I need to start looking for a newer trailer immediately?

In 30 years I've never had a shipper ask how old my trailer is.

Same here, only place I ever hauled into and out of with the 10 year rule was GM in Michigan. It goes for vans and flatbeds there. Have not pulled anything for them in over 5 years.

Im pretty sure Logan aluminum out of russelville, ky had a 10 year rule. Its probably only there for the people with ###### trailers. Then thay can have a reason to tell them to leave. But it could be me remembering that rule from a van delivery too. I cant remember lol.
