There are really great online meetings as well.

I carry a eastern AA directory with me
in case you are not families with one,it lists meetings in every town and contact numbers but a lot of numbers are not working. They have directories of every area in the USA.You can get one from most inter groups and maybe from online
by the way,My name is Tommy H,dos 8-6-88
I usually run southeast, mostly east of the Mississippi and up to Va or lower Pa and Oh
if there is anyone here that would like to exchange phone numbers so we can AA chat while on the road,pm me
I talk with a few AA`s back home daily and stay in touch with my sponsor and a few sponsee`s....yes,we can stay sober on the road
my big book has a lot of miles and I never leave home without it.....
God bless all you truckers out there
i hope you have a nice ride...and a sober one -
If you've been active for 26 years then you know it affects all walks of life truck drivers included.... I'm currently 22 months sober and am getting back on the rd after a 4 year break and I have no reservations

Every city should have a XXXXXXX awarness group. Avoid these XXXXXXXX on the highway
Good for yins sober folks, I'm still in denial. one day I will drink on the job ram every XXXXXXXX possible and really laugh
makes the score even. I bet they are toasted behind the wheel pulling out or turning front of fully loaded rig.
:edit: i am joking: I only drink in a taxi. ever experienced a taxi ? no care in the world. his next destination airport or the casino.Last edited by a moderator: May 28, 2012

I'm just curious why you would give up a successfull career that pays well to get
into trucking. Is it the "thrill of the open road" routine the recruiters gave you?
As a GI you must know not to trust recruiters, right??
I was just wondering is all. -
Hi I am Kathy and I am an alcoholic. I have found some great AA chat rooms and meetings on the net. Just like truckers there are people all over the would awake a strange hours. Still have my home group, and a great sponsor that lives in a state that I don't, but grew up with me in Orlando. Its not a traditional set up but it is working for me. God bless!

12 Years back.
If you can get on this forum, you can get on a local intergroup site.
Found meetings on the road when I was driving a rock band around in a bus (and managing, and doing sound, and . . - how's THAT for "challenging").
Have my sponsor and my local support a phone call away, and most areas would be glad to have someone pick you up at a local truck stop (since most won't allow you to drop your box and leave). Or - you can "google earth" the meeting location, to see if there's nearby parking - or park at a nearby Wallys (all subject of course to logging, hours, personal conveyance permissions, laden/unladen, etc.).
I doubt I would have NEAR the life I have today, were it not for "one day at a time". Even stopped at Dr. Bobs house with the bus, while "on tour" - talk about "god bumps" (and I don't get them all too often).

Cool info. Yes the more sober truckers I meet the better

Cool I just moved to FL. I think I will try the online meetings. I know xaspeakers.com is also good, because you can hear different speakers fro a variety of fellowships.
