I am utterly amazed when I get on here and read many of these posts. You all want to sit and gripe about these companies then learn how to spell correctly. I would not hire a vast majority of these people that post. avanage is not a word the last time I checked it had the letter T in it. Finance should have been spelled finance's. I own a small fleet, under 30 trucks. I believe I will have any future employees take a quick and easy spell test as a requirement for hiring. One more thing if I'm not mistaken the letter i (I) is always capitalized and after the period u should start the word with a capital letter. You want respect from your bosses show them you at least finished 5th grade. You would not believe the messages I am sent every day via the quall com. I have to read the messages over 3 or 4 times in order to understand what half of my uneducated drivers write to me. I currently have 28 drivers 27 of them have a ged. One graduated from high school. So come on all you haters and write me back and tell me I'm a jerk.

    You're a jerk.:biggrin_25522:
But then when I had my company, my drivers called me worse.
    I know what you're saying.
    Such a shame, too.

Yeah I know I'm a jerk. I have 28 trucks and my last hiring was 17 months ago. What does that tell u about my turn over rate. He is my lowest paid driver currently @.39c. He only has 14 months OTR. I pay my drivers well. I have no cap and I know every drivers name first and last. I currently have 9 drivers making 51.c pr ml. I have a Christmas party every year paid in full by me and every driver receives an envelope at the party with a cash payout according to what I feel is appropriate. I currently have a team (2 brothers) that require one week off every month they run. I have no issues with that. There year end bonus ( 6200$ )was given to them and there wives personally thanked me at the Christmas party. I am also a driver myself. I do a lot of the local work since my profession demands I stay in town. I started as a one truck operation. I'm sorry but if you come into my place of business with sweat pants on and an A/C DC shirt on with holes in it looking to operate a 130000$ truck what do you think my first impression of you will be.

So what's the moral of the story?

Don't wear sweat pants and you can have a Christmas party! :biggrin_2559:

As the Prefect of Discipline at my old high school use to say: Gentlemen, to be good, you must first look good.

You probably would have had to attend high school before 1970 to know what a Prefect of Discipline was.

I'm really starting to think that some people see going to work for this company as some sort of challenge, like mountain climbing or winter camping.
    Am I wrong?

The big corporations don't care if a truck driver can
spell. They want there work done cheap that's it. They
claim all kind of things, bull I say you get what you pay
for. Hope I spelled this correctly !
