What are some companies that offer good amounts of home time for new drivers. Example : Roehl 7/4 7/3 program. I am specifically looking for something like 5 days out and 3 days in. Even the 7 days out and 3 days in doesnt sound too bad. I know to become a trucker everyone says you need to not have that as your main priority but for me it is. Only because I am not looking to make a bunch of money with it right now. I am specifically trying to get experience for a few jobs around my area that require it. I own my house and do not have house payments, I also have a wife that works as well. So only makking $20K-$25K is not a problem. Around my area $25k a year is good money lol.

The best hometime is, unemployment or NOT getting into trucking altogether.

If you really do not care to be making big money, why do you need to be a trucker??

Go with whomever you think fits your bill, why do you need opinions on that, when you seem to be set on Roehl??

Exactly. If all you are thinking about is hometime and you want a driving job, deliver pizzas.

"The best hometime is, unemployment or NOT getting into trucking altogether." Oviously that has no income so why would I want to do that. I said I dont need a lot of money. I still need some money"

"If you really do not care to be making big money, why do you need to be a trucker??" Did you forget to read my post all the way before you commented? I am pretty sure I already answered that question. Experience for local jobs.

"Go with whomever you think fits your bill, why do you need opinions on that, when you seem to be set on Roehl??" I am pretty sure I never asked for an opinion? What I was asking for was names of companies who offer good hometime.

Why would you come into the new drivers forum and comment on posts acting like the questions are dumb, especially when your questions you asked me were a lot dumber than mine. I like to travel, drive, and work outdoors is why I want to be a trucker. There are a lot of companies that offer different opporunities and I am trying to do my research before I decide on which company to pick. I am someone that likes to put my self in the best situation for the job that I want to do. I would love to be out driving 7 days then get to come home and spend 3-4 days with my family. All I am asking is if anyone knows of any other companies other than Roehl that offer good home time programs similar to Roehhl, because I like to compare the companies that are offering what I want.

Schneider offers a 7 out and 7 at home program..but not everywhere. Check their website to see if they have any openings near you.

    Well:
    1. Pizza delivery drivers do not offer insurance.
    2. I could work 7 days on and 7 days off and still make plenty more money than a pizza driver would make working 5 days a week.
3..... I am not even gonna bother with you anymore because your obviously a total idiot if you think a pizza job would be better than a 7/7, 7/3 or 7/4 trucking job.

well, I think most folks around here are trucking because they need they income..... and if the wheels ain't turnin' you ain't makin' no income.
That said, I would look to a carrier that has a regional operation. Typically, you'd be home every weekend and sometimes during the week..
I recommend Millis as I work for them and know they have several regional operations and since you're in Ohio, you might be a good fit. Their terminal is in Trenton.

So you guys just do the job cuz you have no life and don't want one ???

Hmmmm. you're both wrong here. I've put my time in. Can STILL get the job done.

Now I get to enjoy the fruits of my labor AND drive. I work 14/7.

NOT A #### THING WRONG with enjoying what you worked so hard for.

    Regardless of your age.

everything you just said couldnt be more WRONG!:biggrin_2558:

    1. Dominos DOES offer Benefits (im sure the other big companies do to "papa johns/etc")

    2. Fri,sat, sun nights works JUST 8 hours you'll make $100-$150 just on tips ALONE not counting your hourly pay

    3. 7 on 7 off isnt going to pay squat, you WOULD make more delivering Pizza..been there done that, made a ton of money doing it.

The only way to make money is trucking is to work, if you want 100% no touch freight, 100% drop n hook, you wont make much.
