Well for now I'm mainly a wheel holder I guess. I absolutely dread having to bark my heavy split axle trailer at truckstops. But, I'm getting better at it. But I'm thinking I will always hate it.

Backing can be a pain. Just have to watch that front tire.

Lol, have to get out there and work that back row from time to time...lmao! Point well taking about becoming a trainer...I do fell like I could do that well based upon how I was trained.. I've done a God deal of bad weather, never had to chain but I know how to. I've only been late once, never dumped a load our cared to, who says I have to train in the winter...currently get 8.3mpg never seen less than 7.2 ..no accidents...so I actually think I would do good training the basics of the job...I in fact know how to do log split, and i'm wouldn't only do it for the pay boost... I can't seem to find a person to team with. It took me until I was actually solo to understand alot of things that my trainers were telling me that didn't register..I've made small screw UPS and will know just how to communicate the do and donts...i.e. My degree is in communications. I get along well with anyone...it was a thought to train brought to me by my dispatcher. Hut I think

You need to put $2000 - $3000 in the bank (minimum) so you have some cash reserve. I run across so many folks who take that settlement check to be a "paycheck." It isn't. It's cash flow into your (separate from personal account) business bank account. You must have that cash cushion to smooth things out so you're not back here in a few weeks whining about how come your starving because you had a week with a real minimal (or zero) settlement. You PAY yourself out of that business account.

Imagine you fall in a ditch and break your ribs and are of the truck for 4 weeks. even with someone running my truck I ended up in the hole (I said he could drive not run a business). Thankfully my business plan has funds set aside for off weeks and months.
