I'm living in a foreign country and want to get back into trucking after being out of the profession for about 10 years. If after putting my foreign wife through a trucking school, would any company hire her to team drive with me?

If she has a greencard, yes, and she will be more likely to be hired as getting into the company they have to do less background checking because the american government does it for you.

Thankx
I was thinking that the trucking companies would want her to have at least 3 years of driving experience. ( 4 wheelers ) -
Have a look at Prime. I believe they have a spouse training program is I remember correctly.
Maybe its CRST? Look here. http://www.joincrst.com/programs.phpMike4747 Thanks this. -
I immagine she would have to become an American Citizen first. I'm not sure anything less will do. Sounds like a question for an immigration Lawyer. One other thing: With CSA and truck inspections; she needs to be fluent in English. Things have changed drastically. On a roadside stop. A driver must KNOW the inpection and KNOW the components and could be required call out the inspection to the authority as it is done. Correct verbage is important.

Green card is OK for employment, I know because I have a green card (Canadian citizen). Driving history will play into it. Does she have a "driving history" in her homeland ? There are companies in the states that hire "foreigners" for part year drivers. I've heard Hogan in St. Louis and Transco Lines in Ar. Do some checking, she will need to speak pretty good english.

Green card and s.s. number will be needed. Plus like the other posters have stated she will need to show prior history. Does she have a license in her home country for a car.

Im not trying to get things stirred up here but I have seen a few replys state that she needs to be fluent in English.
Technically that would be correct but you know as well as I do that there are many truck drivers that cant speak a word of English.TRKRSHONEY Thanks this. -
I am pretty sure she can be hired as a professional driver in the US. If she is legal, has a green card, has a CDL and speaks some English.
Mike4747 Thanks this.
