Yea your right. Landstar will sometimes send out e-mail alerts for say $1000. and then end up telling you its paying more than what it was sent out for. I like Landstar, I just wish they had a fuel advance program.

They have LSP. That's as quick as you're going to get. I'd fuel advance out of my comdata account if I knew someone well enough and they pulled for me regularly.

CHR is one of the few that will fuel advance and couple others I know of.
Now TQL will do com chek but it cost 25.00 extra.
LS quick pay is 3-4 days most time been two a couple times.
LS been doing better by me since first of year paying pretty good on loads I've hauled.

If you guys want it, tell the people at corporate. If enough people scream for it, they will usually do it.

I saw an LS load posted a while back and the "agent" said it was already covered...But...He had that same load through his own trucking co.

Uh...Is that kosher per LS to do that?

It didn't necessarily go on his truck. Could have been any truck. Sometimes loads will still post up even though they've been covered before even hitting the board.

Fuel advances are risking on so many levels. First off if a driver doesn't have enough money to wait on quick pay then what is going to happen when have even a minor issue on the road?

Also, fuel advances are the payday loans of the trucking industry. Forget how much you have to pay with when you factor. Brokers use advances as a indicator for a desperate driver.

I recently learned Landstar now has some agents through what is called the "DFO program." These guys are trucking companies who have direct customers who then broker out their excess through Landstar. I'm not sure how I feel about this...:biggrin_25524:

Did you sign a contract with them? If you did was it all BS like, carrier agrees to recourse if the shipper does not pay. 20% and 24 months back solisiting clause and so on.....

Have you ever delt with Freight Quote.com . What do you think about them? My experience they are always the cheapest. How can I tell who picked up the load from them Bristol PA to Elyria OH today (04-23-2012). This load goes to Sheffield Village OH near the Sam's club. They had listed for $600 and I asked for $800. 15K and 477 loaded miles. What's your take on it?
