we have been using ddl for 3 years and love it

and yes you need to print it out everyday and HAND SIGN IN INK...and keep the last 7 days hard copy in the truck..... had wy dot ask me to 1 time

we've had it running on a cheap acer netbook that stays on for 20-30 days at a time for the last 3 years and we back it up everyday on a thumb drive

We use DDL and as a team we love it. Makes it easy to make adjustments no matter who is driving, if you get my drift!
Just print a copy out for yourself each day and be able to print one is asked by law enforcement. We do have a standard log book in the truck for back up, just like when we ran out of ink in the printer a few days ago...ooops.

DDL also has downloadable print modules that is accepted by many trucking companies such as Landstar, Transport America, Celedon and Land Air just to name a few.

ScaleMaster i have a question reguarding this. I use Drivers Daily Log an i have a printer in my truck to print my logs. But to save ink an paper i dont print my logs unless a dot officer request them. I just wait till i get to the shop an use the company printer to print them an turn them in. Do you think this is good enough our should i start printing them every day?

Make sure your printer is set for draft mode, greatly extends the life of the ink cartridge.

    fast normal will work too.

One thing is if you can keep your printer turned on, it won't try to clean the heads each and every time you power cycle the printer.

    Again, saving you ink.

power spikes are the worse on electronics.

i find it hard to beleive that a netbook has lasted 3 years staying on. when i've gone through 2 printers and 3 laptops so far. in one year. due to power spikes. and the fact that electrical current in the truck isn't the same wave pattern as a house.

you need a digital inverter like on the more expensive generators to have the same wave pattern. (honda, yamaha for example)
i hav eyet to find just a inverter alone.

my printer stays off till time of need. and my laptops get unplugged now when in use.

    even surge protectors haven't helped.

my acer 8.9" netbook run's 24/7/5-30 days at a time for the last 3 years... it's off when at home and if we are going to be down for 5 or more hr's

I do not use an inverter for a laptop. I have the dc power adapter and it is more stable.
