    none actually! :)

    today however...
I picked up a turkey and american cheese on rye from a little store on my way out.
Couple hours earlier I had my banana and Monster (16oz).
Maybe an hour and half after eating that sandwich, my stomach starts cramping and burning. Couple hours after that, I needed "unload" as you so eloquently put it lol. I hold it. All day. Don't know how it was that sandwich. Tasted/smelled good goin down.
So, then I had a banana about 1400 and a bottle of water.
Now, I just got home and had some stuff my wife baked in the oven. Chicken salad and bread stuff.

This is what I ate today.

I must say that OTR life impacts health - sleeping, diet, hygiene, exercizing, social life, etc... Since I've been vegetarian for 30 yrs, I have always cooked for myself and got used to it but doing it inside of a truck instead of a kitchen, with no refrigerator, no sink and no running water... and in a very limited time (during my 10 hr break) makes it more difficult to keep eating the way I used to when I was living in a home/ house. Instead of cooking real dry beans, I use now can beans - which is not very healthy, and sometimes pre-cooked rice and can vegetables... :biggrin_2557: I also reduced amount of food I eat and frequency due to driving, schedules, etc. Not being able to keep a regular sleeping habit, shower everyday + stress and not being able to stay active... That's not very healthy at all. :biggrin_25513:

I work in the LTL field and since im home everyday I can still eat healthy. Heres what I usually do

Breakfast - either bowl of high fiber whole grain cereal with fruit, nova bagel, or egg white sandwich with spinach and turkey

snack - half sandwich with either grilled chicken, turkey, roast beef. I add cheese, broccolli rabe, and usually mustard(except roast beef)

lunch - I normally make a salad with chicken...

snack - other half of sandwich

dinner - usually something decent portioned of a protein, carb and vegetable... or I heat up some chilli or soup I made in crock-pot

Thats what I do, it keeps the weight off and its better to eat small portions throughout the day. I know if you are a OTR driver its harder, but like others said bring a cooler and stock up. You will also save a lot more money too.

Google TRX training, buy some cheap dumbbells off craigslist, jump rope, gps app for smart phone and go for a walk or jog.

Fridge, microwave, and an all in one rice cooker food steamer. Lean proteins, fruits and veggies. No sweets or white flour!

Either burn less calories then you take in or eat less.

Dont watch tv and play games, instead make your health a priority.

I have a single speed Dahon. It rides in a coal bag in front of the passenger seat. The thing is a tank, and hasn't needed any repairs in the last five years. The tires are getting thin, and I'm getting them replaced. Finding a place to ride isn't a problem. Bring a backpack to make it easy to shop. And a cable bike lock.

I am lactose intolerant too. If you call the squirts a form of processing sugar then I guess my body processes that kind of sugar....My body is spitting it out because it can't process it.

That article in the magazine was written by an MD. What did Landline have to gain by printing that article? Nothing as far as I can see.
