The rfx is intended to be run at 10-13w carrier and peak is usually around 80w. Vs a typical tuned cb of 4-5w carrier and 20-30w peak, it is a noticeable improvement.

Kinda like my connex. I can have the carrier set at a low key and still going to 200ish on pep power (when you talk into the mic. Or I can crank up the carrier and still swing 200ish pep. I get out further when I have the carrier cranked up then if I have it turned down to less then ten watts.

Wow!!! Finally someone who knows that a higher carrier will increase you transmit distance over a low carrier. You would not believe the number of people who think its the other way around.
